Dr. Elaine Batchlor an Eyewitness Newsmaker
Dr. Elaine Batchlor, CEO of Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital, participated in the ABC7 Eyewitness News Sunday Roundtable with Adrienne Alpert, along with LA County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and Dr. Robert Ross, president and chief executive officer for The California Endowment.
On the topic of staff, Dr. Batchlor shared that for approximately 500 positions filled at the time of the interview, she had received more than 13,000 applications. With such an overwhelming interest in working at the hospital, staffers have been able to be selective and hire employees in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the hospital. As a result, says Dr. Batchlor, “The staff are so committed, and so passionate, and excited to be serving the community.”
