Ahmanson brings critical equipment to hospital

Siemen’s Symphony MRI equipment

To meet community need with the highest quality care, the new Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital must equip its facility with the tools most critical to delivering timely and accurate diagnoses. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is one such tool. An MRI machine allows the physician to study a comprehensive image. Located inside the hospital, this tool allows for real-time diagnosis and eliminates the risk of transporting vulnerable patients to an outside MRI facility. This ensures the best possible health outcomes for all patients.

The Ahmanson Foundation awarded the MLK Community Health Foundation a grant of $500,000 for the purchase of a Siemen’s Symphony MRI at the new hospital.

We’re proud to have Ahmanson’s partnership, with its 62-year history of philanthropic leadership in southern California. Along with recent partners The David & Lucile Packard Foundation and the Good Hope Medical Foundation, Ahmanson joins a growing rank of supporters whose generosity is ensuring our vision of health for all communities in South Los Angeles.
