On February 2, 2018, Becker's Hospital Review published '27 female physician executives to know in honor of National Women Physicians Day.' And one of those names on the list was our hospital's very own CEO, Dr. Elaine Batchlor.
The list highlights women physician executives whom Becker's deems "have made significant strides at their respective institutions." Editors chose nominees based on their leadership skills, career achievements, and management track records.
This year was the third annual National Women Physicians Day, and the first time Becker's published a list for the occasion.
In 2013, Becker's published '10 Women Physician Leaders to Know,' and also included Dr. Batchlor. Since 2012, Dr. Batchlor has also been named in its annual listing of 'Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.' Becker's Hospital Review is the leading publication of the hospital and health systems industry.
Founded in 2015 to celebrate the impact women are making in medicine, National Women Physicians Day falls on February 3 each year. The date coincides with the birthday of Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman in the US known to earn a medical degree.
